The winter is long with climates ever changing Long dark nights and moons a warning Then comes spring with a breath of fresh air The scent of newness fills the air Buds arrive fighting to grow Sometimes sun, sometimes rain, sometimes snow The birds begin singing calling for friends, Flying for days to come to an end Settling down to build a nest Hoping to find a mate at last Oh, look and see the bulbs have grown Daffodils, tulips, standing alone Crocuses, bluebells, trees going green, The nicest season I have seen Walk in the woods with seas of blue, It’s the best sight for me and for you — Gillian Reid |
